- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, granulated sugar, and nuts (if using). Mix until evenly combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
- Add sugar and vanilla extract, beating well until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the sour cream until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour the filling over the cooled crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Place the cheesecake in the oven and bake for about 55-65 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature.
- Once cooled, spread the cherry pie filling over the top of the cheesecake, ensuring an even layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

- To prevent cracking, make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing.
- Use a water bath during baking to maintain moisture, if desired.
- Run a knife around the edge of the cheesecake before removing it from the springform pan to prevent sticking.
