- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix well.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheets, shaping into hearts if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool before decorating.
Notes
- These cookies can be decorated with icing or sprinkles after cooling.
- For best results, do not overmix the dough.
