Description
A delicious recipe for spaghetti served with juicy beef meatballs, garnished with parsley and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g ground beef
- 200g spaghetti
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley (plus more for garnish)
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional, to balance acidity)
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Form the mixture into medium-sized meatballs.
- Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the tomato sauce, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and add the meatballs back into the sauce. Cover and let cook for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the meatballs to cook through.
- Cook the Spaghetti: While the meatballs are cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the spaghetti and set aside.
- Combine and Serve: Toss the cooked spaghetti with the tomato sauce and meatballs. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- For extra juicy meatballs, avoid over-mixing the meat mixture.
- To ensure even cooking, try to make all meatballs roughly the same size.
- Simmer the sauce over low heat to deepen the flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to taste before serving.
