Description

Delicious grilled chicken sandwiches made with tender chicken breasts marinated in buttermilk and coated in a flavorful seasoned flour mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts (Skinless and boneless)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (For marinating the chicken)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (For coating the chicken)
  • 1 tsp paprika (Adds flavor and color)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (For seasoning the coating)
  • 1 tsp onion powder (For seasoning the coating)
  • Salt and pepper (To taste)
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns (Soft and pillowy)
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles (For topping)
  • Barbecue sauce (For serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, and pepper, and let the chicken breasts soak for about 30 minutes.
  2. While the chicken is marinating, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in another bowl.
  3. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing the excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture until fully coated.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Add a touch of oil to prevent sticking if necessary.
  5. Place the coated chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until the chicken is cooked through and has beautiful grill marks.
  6. Toast your sandwich buns lightly on the grill if desired.
  7. Place a grilled chicken breast on each bun, top with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and drizzle with barbecue sauce.
  8. Serve these sandwiches warm with some extra sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate for longer if possible.
  • You can customize toppings based on preference.
  • This recipe can be adjusted for spice by adding cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the marinade.
