Description

A delicious heart-shaped chocolate cake perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring (optional for heart)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs and melted butter until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
  5. Pour half the batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Cool slightly, then cut out heart shapes from the baked layer and place them back on top of remaining batter.
  7. Cover with the rest of the batter and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until done.

Notes

  • Make sure to cool the cake completely before cutting out heart shapes.
  • The red food coloring is optional and can be adjusted based on your preference.
