A delicious heart-shaped chocolate cake perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Red food coloring (optional for heart)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and melted butter until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk and vanilla extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
- Pour half the batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Cool slightly, then cut out heart shapes from the baked layer and place them back on top of remaining batter.
- Cover with the rest of the batter and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until done.
Notes
- Make sure to cool the cake completely before cutting out heart shapes.
- The red food coloring is optional and can be adjusted based on your preference.
