Description

A flavorful ground beef and potato curry that’s perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (Preferably lean)
  • 2 medium Potatoes (Peeled and diced)
  • 1 medium Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 1 inch Ginger (Grated)
  • 1 medium Tomato (Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 salt Salt (To taste)
  • 2 tbsp Oil (For cooking)
  • 1 cup Water (As needed)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro (Chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute.
  4. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned.
  5. Mix in chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  6. Add diced potatoes and all the spices. Stir well to combine.
  7. Pour in water, cover, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  8. Once cooked, sprinkle with fresh cilantro before serving.
