- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry and season with salt and black pepper. Tip: Dry shrimp sear better.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Tip: Do not brown the garlic.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Squeeze in lemon juice and sprinkle parsley over shrimp, then toss gently. Tip: Remove from heat immediately to keep shrimp tender.
