Lemon Garlic Chicken Cutlets

Description

Delicious lemon garlic chicken cutlets, seared to perfection and topped with a rich garlic sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts sliced into cutlets
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons capers drained
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken cutlets with salt and black pepper then coat lightly in flour shaking off excess for a thin crust.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through then transfer to a plate.
  3. Reduce heat and add butter to the same skillet letting it melt then stir in the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice scraping the pan to release flavor then add capers and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly reduced.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet spoon sauce over the top and simmer for 2 minutes then garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken cutlets in lemon juice and garlic before cooking.
