Description

Delicious cheesy ground beef tacos perfect for any meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package taco shells
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cheese sauce or nacho cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
  2. Season the Beef:
Drain any excess fat from the skillet. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef and stir well. Pour in 1/2 cup of water and stir again. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, until most of the liquid has reduced.
  3. Add Cheese:
Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined with the beef.
  4. Prepare the Tacos:
Warm the taco shells according to the package instructions. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture into each shell.
  5. Assembly:
Top with diced tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. Drizzle cheese sauce or nacho cheese over the top. Optionally, add shredded lettuce and a dollop of sour cream.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add chopped jalapeños or hot sauce.
  • Use fresh lime juice to add a zesty kick.
  • Warm the taco shells in the oven for a crispier texture.
  • Adjust the taco seasoning to taste or add additional spices like cumin or paprika if desired.
