Description
A delicious cheesy casserole made with ground beef, cheddar cheese soup, and topped with crispy French fries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 1 can (10 oz) condensed cheddar cheese soup
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package (16 oz) frozen French fries
Instructions
- Preheat and prep: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the beef and onions: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain off any excess grease.
- Create the burger base: Stir in the cheddar cheese soup, ketchup, and mustard directly into the skillet with the cooked beef. Mix until everything is well combined and warmed through.
- Assemble the casserole: Pour the beef mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Add the fries: Arrange the frozen French fries in a single layer over the cheese.
- Bake: Pop the dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and golden brown.
- Serve it hot: Let it cool just a bit before serving—it will be molten cheesy deliciousness right out of the oven.
Notes
- Pair with a side salad or some crunchy pickles to round it out.
