A rich and smooth brown sugar syrup perfect for various desserts and beverages.
Ingredients

- ½ cup water
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (or 1 cinnamon stick)
- ⅛ teaspoon ground coriander
- ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
Instructions
- Whisk together all ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer, and continue to simmer on low for 4-6 minutes, whisking occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Do not boil.
- Optional: strain out the spices using a fine mesh strainer and/or cheesecloth to make it extra smooth.
- Let cool, then store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use, for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- This syrup can be used on pancakes, waffles, or as a sweetener for beverages.
