Description

A rich and smooth brown sugar syrup perfect for various desserts and beverages.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (or 1 cinnamon stick)
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground coriander
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a simmer, and continue to simmer on low for 4-6 minutes, whisking occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Do not boil.
  3. Optional: strain out the spices using a fine mesh strainer and/or cheesecloth to make it extra smooth.
  4. Let cool, then store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use, for up to 2 weeks.

  • This syrup can be used on pancakes, waffles, or as a sweetener for beverages.
